It was about a year that I had my old site/design, with the sad and lonely blog that was only updated once. I’m hoping to kick that habit, the habit of not posting that is, and turn this site into a real go to place for information on all projects run by Derek Bacon!

On that note, I thought I’d take some time to break down some future/current projects that I’m working on.

Appetite For Adventure, 2012

The most exciting of the projects that I’m working on has definitely got to be my card game, Appetite for Adventure. It’s recently been picked up to be published by Gamesalute!

Together we’ll be running a Kickstarter campaign for it sometime this summer, so you can be sure to hear lots more about the project soon!

Society of Adventurers, page Nine, 2012

Currently I’m running a comic over at www.societyofadventurers.com . My original intention was to Kickstart it, and release it as a print volume, but I only managed to raise 1/3rd of the funds needed. It was really great learning experience, running my project at kickstarter, and I gained a lot of invaluable knowledge about marketing and pr. I’m planning on re-kickstarting the project later this year (probably after my campaign for Appetite), but in the meantime I’ll be posting two pages a week at the aforementioned site.

Lastly, I’m also curating an anthology centered around the theme of Folklore. I’m very lucky to know a lot of really talented artists, so it was really a no-brainer for me to collect them all together and put out what should be a fantastic volume. My entry focuses on the fantastic Wisconsin legend of The Hodag, while some of the other entires involve; a retelling of sleepy hollow, two interpretations of epic poems, a couple home grown folktales, and plenty more to keep you interested. Of course again, I’m planning on Kickstarting this volume later this year. God I love Kickstarter.

Any who, that’s what I’ve got on my plate in the upcoming months. I’ve got other work that may show up along the way, but they’re commissioned pieces, and confidentiality is usually a concern until the project wraps.
